Day 01: Madurai
You will be accorded a warm welcome on arrival in Madurai. Thereafter, a Kerala Backwater representative will escort you to the hotel. Spend the remaining part of the day at leisure, before retiring for the night.
Day 02: Madurai
On day 2 of the Madurai Bangalore Tour, embark on a city sightseeing tour after breakfast. Visit some of Madurai's famous attractions like the Meenakshi Temple and the Tirumalai Nayak Palace. Return for an overnight stay at your hotel in Madurai.
Day 03: Madurai - Periyar
Enjoy a boat ride on the Periyar in the morning. Also treat yourself to the wonderful sight of the wild animals of Periyar lazing on the banks of the lake. Spend the entire day getting acquainted with the rich flora and fauna of Periyar before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 04: Periyar - Trivandrum - Kovalam
As part of the Madurai Bangalore Tour, travel to Kovalam by road. You will also visit the city of Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) enroute. Check into a hotel on arrival in Kovalam and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be at your hotel in Kovalam.
Day 05: Kovalam
Have the entire day to yourself. You can either relax on the beach or indulge in a number of beach sporting activities. Besides, you can explore the city, indulge in Ayurvedic treatments or simply go shopping. Stay overnight in Kovalam.
Day 06: Kovalam - Kumarakom
On day 6 of the Madurai Bangalore Tour, drive to Kottayam. On arrival, board a houseboat that will take you through the sleepy backwaters of Kerala to Kumarakom. It must be noted that the houseboats are modified versions of the rice boats used in the past. Check in at a hotel on arrival in Kumarakom. Stay overnight in Kumarakom.
Day 07: Kumarakom
Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary in the morning. Enjoy some bird watching exercises besides getting acquainted with the natural beauty of the park. Spend the remaining part of the day indulging in any activity of your choice before returning to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Kumarakom - Cochin
Board a houseboat to Alleppey in the morning. Upon arrival, disembark and take the road to Cochin, located 60 km away. Check into a hotel on arrival and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay will be in Cochin.
Day 09: Cochin
On day 9 of the Madurai Bangalore Tour, explore the city of Cochin. Visit attractions like Fort Cochin, St. Francis Church and the famous Chinese fishing nets. Return for an overnight stay at your hotel in Cochin.
Day 10: Cochin - Bangalore
Transfer to the airport and take a connecting flight to Bangalore. Upon arrival, set out on a sightseeing tour around the city. Visit the Vidhan Soudha, Nandi Temple, Lal Bagh and Botanical Garden among other attractions. Transfer to the airport in the evening and embark on your onward journey.
