Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is the bird watchers paradise as it provides shelter to more than 60 and 100 varieties of migratory and native birds. Every year, the sanctuary attracts a large number of tourists for witnessing rare species of avifauna. Some of the migratory birds to be spotted in this exotic bird sanctuary include seagulls, green shanks, sand plovers, terns, sandpipers and turn stones. The best time to visit this bird sanctuary is during the months of October to March. The other highlights to visit in this wildlife reserve are the wide variety of mussels, crabs and fishes around the water bodies. Situated at a distance of 19 km from Kozhikode, Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary can be easily reached by the state owned buses plying on regular intervals.
